Just after 9am on Saturday, October 11, 2008 the Hardyston Fire Department was dispatched to the scene of a fully involved structure fire at Tony’s Restaurant & Pub
located on Route 23 in Hardyston. First arriving units immediately requested mutual aid from nearby towns including Franklin, West Milford Fire Company # 4 and Jefferson Twp Fire Company # 1. With the fire consuming most of the building, fire crews worked quickly to get the blaze under control in less than an hour. Firefighters began overhaul around 10am and a request for Jefferson Twp Fire Company #2's Air Truck was made to assist with the refilling of S.C.B.A. bottles. Hardyston Fire was redispatched back to the scene at 3:30pm for a reported smoke condition. The fire is being investigated by the Hardyston Police Dept & the Sussex County Fire Marshall.
