Shortly after 6pm on Sunday, 2/08/09 the Wharton Fire Dept was dispatched to a structure fire at 36 East Union Turnpike. Upon arrival, Wharton PD reported visable flame rolling out of the windows and onto the lawn on the Bravo side of a one and a half story woodframe residential dwelling. The house was undergoing renovations. Picatinny was dispatched as FAST team. Mutual aid was also requested from Mine Hill Fire Dept. Officials stated the fire began in the kitchen before extending throughout the structure. Firefighters aggressively brought this fire under control in less than 15 minutes and no injuries were reported.
